When Darius Rucker appeared in a celebrity episode of undercover boss in 2017, he donned a disguise to research emerging artists. One of the musicians who marked him the most was Jocelynean artist who is now representing the state of Nebraska in NBC’s new contest, American song contest.
The new series, hosted by Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Doggrests “on the global phenomenon Eurovision Song Contest, a musical show watched by 200 million viewers each year,” according to NBC. Competitors – including solo artists, duos, bands and DJs – perform original songs live, representing all 50 states, five US territories and the US capital – all vying for the US vote for Best Song original. The highly anticipated show premiered this month.
Rucker took to Instagram, sharing, “I first heard @Jocelynmusic sing while filming Undercover Boss and immediately became a fan. Now… she’s on @AmericanSongContest representing Nebraska! Y’all, this girl is amazing and I know you’ll like her. Let’s get him some votes! Rucker fans gushed in the comments that they liked the photo and promised to vote for Jocelyn on American song contest (which Rucker noted viewers can do on TikTok, the NBC app, or online).
